How much does a website cost in 2026: landing pages, marketing sites and SaaS

A website costs about $300 to $3,000 for a landing page, $800 to $10,000 for a marketing site and $15,000+ for SaaS. See what moves each number.

A website costs roughly $300 to $3,000 for a landing page, $800 to $10,000 for a marketing or business site, and $15,000 or more for a SaaS marketing site built by an agency. As of July 2026, those ranges come from one cost model built on 600+ project quotes. Treat them as ballparks, because who builds the site and how ready your content is move the number more than page count does.

This guide gives the ranges for each type of site, the variables behind them, and the ongoing costs people forget. Most published figures come from vendors with something to sell. We flag where that matters.

What a landing page costs

A landing page is a single page built to drive one action, such as a signup or a purchase. A cost model updated in July 2026 puts freelancer work at $300 to $1,500 and agency work at $800 to $3,000, with a typical project near $1,500.

What you get at each end

The low end is usually a template with your copy and brand dropped in. The high end adds custom layout, motion, tracking and a form connected to your CRM. If the page is supposed to convert, the design matters less than the offer and the page elements around it. Our guide to landing page conversion elements covers which ones have testing data behind them.

What a marketing or business site costs

A marketing site is a handful to a few dozen pages: home, services, about, contact, usually a blog. The same cost model gives $800 to $4,000 with a freelancer and $2,000 to $10,000 with an agency, with a typical project near $4,000.

Where the number goes

Page count is a weak predictor. One agency pricing guide says unique templates and page types drive the estimate, not the total number of pages. Fifty blog posts on one template cost far less than ten pages that each need their own layout.

What a SaaS website costs

This one needs care, because "SaaS website" means two different things.

Marketing site versus product

A SaaS marketing site is the homepage, pricing, feature pages and blog that sell the product. The product itself is the app behind the login. The cost model lists web app and SaaS builds at $5,000 to $40,000 with a freelancer and $15,000 to $120,000 or more with an agency, and that range includes product functionality. Its worked example, a custom SaaS marketing site plus dashboard, came to $28,000 with a senior freelancer and $78,000 with an agency in the US market.

Agency redesign ranges

An agency that focuses on SaaS reports that a comprehensive SaaS website redesign typically runs $30,000 to $70,000. It breaks that down by stage: $15,000 to $30,000 at seed, $40,000 to $80,000 for Series A or B companies, and $100,000 or more at enterprise scale. That source sells agency work, so read its numbers as the upper end of what a full research-and-design engagement costs.

What moves the price

Four variables explain most of the gap between two quotes for the same site. Here they are.

Who builds it and where

The cost model says agencies bill roughly 2.2 times freelancer rates for equivalent scope. It also applies a geographic multiplier, from 1.28x in the US down to 0.51x in Eastern Europe and 0.3x in South Asia. Those are modeled figures, not a rate card. Use them for direction, not to predict a quote.

Scope and readiness

Quotes rise when you arrive without copy, a page inventory or brand materials. The same agency guide lists what changes an estimate: integrations such as forms, CRM, analytics and payments, accessibility and responsive requirements, QA and staging, and the number of review rounds. The platform matters too. The cost model describes a 2x to 10x spread between platforms for the same goal, so read choosing a CMS for a Next.js marketing site before you pick one.

Do not average published ranges

Published ranges measure different things. Clutch reports $2,000 to $100,000 for web design company projects, while WebFX reports $1,000 to $30,000 or more from a survey of US marketing professionals. The guide's warning is fair: averaging sources that count different things gives a number that means nothing.

Ongoing and hidden costs

The build isn't the whole bill. For custom builds, the cost model lists hosting at $0 to $300 a month and maintenance at $50 to $500 a month, plus a rule of thumb of 15 to 20 percent of the build cost per year. A WordPress stack is quoted at $20 to $100 a month. The agency guide declines to give a fixed percentage and says to price domain, platform subscriptions, paid plugins and optional ongoing work separately.

Hidden items tend to be content, compliance, premium plugins and post-launch performance fixes. They often show up on invoices but not in the first proposal. Setting performance budgets before launch is cheaper than fixing a slow site afterward.

Contract type matters too. Fixed-price quotes typically run 115 to 125 percent of the expected time-and-materials cost, because the builder is pricing in the risk of scope changes.

How to get quotes you can compare

Write a one-page scope before you ask anyone for a price. List the pages, the number of unique templates, the integrations, who writes the copy, who owns QA and launch, and how many review rounds are included. Send the same page to every builder. If you are scoping something larger, how to scope a project uses the same approach for automation work.

A quote that leaves any of those items out is not cheaper. It is incomplete.

Summary

Pick the row that matches your project: a few hundred to a few thousand dollars for a landing page, a few thousand for a marketing site, and tens of thousands for a SaaS marketing site or redesign. Add 15 to 20 percent a year to keep it running, and compare quotes only on identical scope. If you want a second opinion on a scope or a quote, Kallos Labs web development can review it with you.

Frequently asked questions

How much does a website cost in 2026?

Roughly $300 to $3,000 for a landing page, $800 to $10,000 for a marketing or business site, and $15,000 or more for a SaaS marketing site built by an agency. Who builds it and how ready your content is move the number most.

Is a freelancer cheaper than an agency?

Usually, by about 2x for the same scope in one cost model. You trade the lower price for less project management, so check who owns QA, launch and changes.

What does a website cost to run each year?

Hosting ranges from $0 to $300 a month and maintenance from $50 to $500 a month for custom builds. One rule of thumb is 15 to 20 percent of the build cost per year.

Why do quotes for the same website differ so much?

Quotes price different things: content readiness, templates, integrations, accessibility and review rounds. A quote that leaves them out is not cheaper, it is incomplete.
